Visit the historic Bagha Mosque at 770 taka

There are many hidden hiding places in this city. Bagha Mosque is a historical mosque located in Bagha Upazila, about 41 kilometers south-east of Rajshahi district headquarters. Sultan Nasiruddin Nasrat Shah established the mosque in 1523.

History

The mosque was built in 1523-24 (930H), the son of the founder of the Hussein Shahi clan, Sultan Nasrat Shah, son of Alauddin Shah. Later, the mosque was renovated and the mosque dome was demolished when the mosque was rebuilt in a new mosque in 1897.

The Bagha Mosque is built with lime and stool. Inside the mosque and on the outer wall there are beautiful mahras and pillars. Apart from this, there are many ceramic pieces of terracotta, in which there are thousands of craftsmanships used in the Persian carving industry, including mango, shapala flowers, grasshoppers. Four domes around the main mosque and there are 10 dome in five in each row. There are five gates on the east side of the mosque. Four doors of north and south walls have been closed. Besides, on the north side of the mosque premises, Hazrat Shahdullah and his five companions' mazar Nasiruddin Nasrat Shah, son of Alauddin Hussain Shah, an independent sultan of Bengal, excavated a dighi in front of the mosque for public welfare. The Dighi is situated on 52 bighas of land adjacent to the Shahi Mosque. The coconut tree is enclosed around this lake. During the winter of the year, many guests in this lighthouse become the face of many birds in the field of birds. At present, four paved areas of the lake have been constructed. Apart from this, there is a shrine of Johar Khaki Pir with this mosque. His grave is on the north side of the main shrine. Apart from this, the Mahal pond was discovered from the ground floor of the mosque. In 1997, on the western side of the shrine, excavation found a paved mound pond of 30 feet by 20 feet. This pond was associated with the Andamahala with a tunnel. Three steps down the stairs have come down. There are lots of terracotta plaques inside and outside the mosque.
